How To Add the SRT file to your LinkedIn video

20/12/2022

After crafting your SRT file, the next phase is to add it to your LinkedIn video. So sign in with you LinkedIn credentials and adhere to these steps:

1- Select your video

To easily post a video on LinkedIn, simply click the "Video" button and select the desired file to upload.

2- Upload SRT file

Upon selecting and adding your video, click the "Select Caption" button situated directly beneath the video preview to proceed.

Quickly upload the SRT file, which was generated by some video caption generator online tool, to LinkedIn. However, make sure the filename of your SRT file is identical to that of your video - this becomes significantly vital since there were some recent problems associated with different titles on LinkedIn.

Congrats, you've added subtitles to your LinkedIn video! Now it's time to take it one step further: You should upload a Thumbnail as well. This additional feature will draw more attention from people scrolling through the newsfeed and ensure that captions are displayed in the traditional style of LinkedIn. And just like that, you're ready for posting!

Side note:

LinkedIn takes care of the font size, placement and color for your subtitles - if you prefer having them permanently integrated into your video, use one of the many online video editor tools available to do that.
